Sunday the 19th May the Wroxeter Wreckers hosted the inaugural Annie Bradley Memorial Softball Day at The Avenue in memory of one of their founder members who sadly recently passed away. The sun was out, the food was fantastic (thank you to our Sri Lankan friends) and the softball was excellent.
Teams representing the Wroxeter Wreckers, Wroxeter Senior and Juniors, Sri Lankan Ladies and Husbands all turned out with the Wroxeter Juniors finally being crowed champions beating the Wroxeter Wreckers by 1 run in the final match of the day.
Pete Bradley said “You all did Annie proud and look forward to next years event.”
Kay noted “Great to have so many past Wrekin Wreckers ladies here to support and honour Annie.”
The raffle and “chuck a duck” game raised £255 for the charity crisis (www.crisis.org.uk).
Thank you for the wonderful food from the Sri Lankan community, it is always fantastic.
We are all looking forward to this season and next year’s event.
